CASTELAR'S GARDENS
These gardens were inaugurated in the year 1903, built on land of the garden of the convent of the Dominicans, whose Church corresponds, in part, to the current parish of Santo Domingo, with its cloister currently located in the headquarters of the Civil Guard of Badajoz.
Su initial design is due to Juan Nogres Rauchuna, he commissioned a realignment that took place around the year 1941. The current appearance is due to a reform that was carried out in the early 90s of the last century. It has a great variety and wealth exotic plant species. Located within the walls of the old city, separated from the fortification by the old round, today Avenida de Ramón y Cajal are. On the other side of the walls is known as children's Park, which occupies the pits situated between the bastions of San Vicente and San Jose.
