THE GARDENS OF BADAJOZ
The city had one of his epochs of major brilliance and independence, during the period of the kings Atásidas, though always he enjoyed a special autonomy of Cordova. In Badajoz the letters and the sciences were cultivated. Someone of his kings and leaders left encyclopedias and books of poems. For his writings and them of others, we know that inside the fort that today we know, there existed palaces, gardens and sources of great beauty.
Maybe it is an Arabic inheritance, but Badajoz is the city of the trees, of the parks and gardens. Here a sample of them. San Francisco, Castelar, The widows and that of the Legion they were the first ones. Later they spread to the different slums and the trees grow abundant the new avenues.
