The municipal dependences disperse and the markets diversify and specialize. For it every neighborhood and parish possesses his own places for the development of the different social, religious activities and economic. The first great square of Badajoz is the known one popularly as High Plaza, though his real name resembles D. Nowadays the center of Badajoz is in the Plaza of Spain, situated in the former Field of San Juan, in the shade of the Cathedral and the Municipal Palace, where it takes root in the current Council of the city. San Atón, the nearby walk of San Francisco, the Field of the Cross (today Plaza of the Kings Católicos) and the Plazuela of The Loneliness they distribute inside the old town the protagonism of the daily occupation of Badajoz.on of Badajoz.
