PARK OF THE SITES OF BADAJOZ

Embracing bastions of the Trinidad and of Santa Maria, as continuation of the park of The legion or of San Roque, a green space covers these pits of the fortification, expression of a historical legacy, watered with the blood of thousands of soldiers who left there his lives in defense of his flags.

In so out-standing place and fruit of the private inciativa, abanderada later for the Town hall of the city, a simple monolith got up, in honoring to so epic episodes happened during the War of the Independence.

On the base of the monument four inscriptions are gathered in Castilian, Portuguese, Englishman and Frenchman, presided by the respective national shields of the countries interveners in the peninsular Wars or War of the Spanish Independence. The project and idea of this simple monument, it is a fruit of the worry of a group of citizens agglutinated about the Civic Association City of Badajoz, not due recognized facts, but that the own monolith can testify.
